18. Who developed the PhenterMax weight loss program?

1. Why choose medical supervision for weight loss?
More than 90% of all patients who try to lose weight on their own regain the weight back quicker than those patients who utilized a medical provider and some type of adjunctive medication for maintenance therapy. (Recent National Institute of Health studies.)

2. What do the medications do?
The medications prescribed attack the two aspects which contribute to weight gain. The first is to suppress the appetite, thereby reducing caloric intake and enhancing satiety. Second is to increase the body’s natural energy for effective metabolism so that you lose fat, not muscle.

How many millions of people have struggled to follow diets they find in a book? A book cannot suppress your appetite, which is why with most people, the weight comes back. With PhenterMax you won't feel hungry. Reading a book won't increase your metabolism, but PhenterMax does that too.

3. Is it safe?
These medications have been proven safe and effective by the FDA in helping patients lose weight and keep it off. There is abundant scientific data establishing that appetite suppressants in combination with diet and exercise work synergistically to promote weight loss and help to keep it off.

The medications vary according to patient, but every drug we administer has undergone numerous studies conducted in the U.S. and abroad.

Most often you will be taking PHENTERMINE and TOPAMAX, which have proven results in weight loss. For those patients who need it, we will prescribe weekly injections of concentrated proprietary vitamins (including B-12) that work effectively with the weight loss medications to burn fat and help you lose weight. Additionally, we have added oral vitamins that include L-Carnitine, Chromate, and Cortisol Control to increase metabolism and enhance fat oxidation.

Phentermine is an appetite suppressant with a long history of use in the U.S. It acts on the brain chemical known as Dopamine, thereby causing people to eat less.

Clinical studies have indicated the medications are safe and effective for weight-loss with appropriate monitoring. Phentermine and Bontril have been used by millions of patients have generally been safe when used in carefully monitored medical settings. The benefits of Phentermine and Bontril as weight-loss medicines have been documented and have proven safe and effective for extended periods of time. Topamax has been proven clinically safe and effective as a monotherapy for epilepsy and migraine headache treatment and is currently pending approval by the FDA as a single agent for weight-loss for regulated periods of time.

Further good news, these medications are not amphetamines. They are much safer.

We have treated thousands of patients and there have been no significant side effects. The discontinuance rate has been less than 5%. While side effects are rare, they are disclosed to all our patients. Research shows these side effects are generally transient and disappear after a few weeks on the medication.

4. Can I stay on other weight loss programs at the same time as I take these medications?
Yes. It is recommended that you follow a sensible diet designed specifically for you and to consult with your primary care provider before starting any weight loss program. Certain diet programs have been known to conflict with the results of our program, please inform your health care provider of any special diet(s) you may be on or considering.

5. Are there any shots involved in this weight loss program?
We do offer concentrated vitamin injections on a weekly basis and oral proprietary vitamin medications that include L-Carnitine, Chromate, and Rodex (Vitamin B6). Remember, medically reducing your appetite means we need to make sure you get the nutrients your body needs. These shots ensure you stay healthy. For patients who don't like injections, we remind them to focus on how good they'll feel when the weight is gone!

6. Can I take any other prescription medication while in this program?
Every patient is different. Due to potential interactions, always discuss your medications with your Physician before adding new medications. The combination of medications, containing stimulants, particularly Ephedra, can cause heart palpitations and other health risks.

7. How many pills a day do I take?
Typically one pill of Phentermine or Bontril in the morning and two pills of the Topamax at night. The dose and frequency of the medications will be adjusted by your physician according to your individual weight loss needs. We have a combination pill that is once daily available as well.

8. Does this work for everyone?
Approximately 5% of patients in our group can be termed “non-responders.” We cannot predict who this might be. Factors such as diet, exercise and behavior modifications play a significant role in the program’s success.

9. How long can I take the medication?
Individual factors such as diet, exercise, BMI, health risk and behavior modifications are all taken into consideration when determining dosage and duration. Results will vary depending on the patient's dedication and commitment to achieving their target weight.

10. Will I be hungry?
No. Most people on the program notice a dramatic decrease in their appetite with enhanced satiety and decrease craving particularly for complex carbohydrates and fats. Interestingly patients note an almost immediate aversion to soft drinks!

11. Do I have to live in Las Vegas?
No. Currently we would need you to come to Las Vegas for the initial visit, but then you would only need to come back in six months. We will maintain contact with you via phone and make sure the program is working, and that you are seeing a local physician to monitor your progress. Soon we will be opening an office in Phoenix, Arizona. Due to our astonishing success rate, before you complete the program, it is likely PhenterMax will be in a city near you.

12. Can I see/read more testimonials?
Yes, click here. Perhaps next year the next one will be from you!

13. Will increasing the medications help me lose weight faster?
No. Our motto is “START LOW AND GO SLOW.” Our goal for the program is that you obtain a safe and satisfactory weight loss of 10-15% over six months to one year. Reasonable expectations for your weight loss provide a measuring tool throughout the weight loss program. Your medications will be adjusted based on your progress.

14. What is the average weight loss?
On average, patients lose 8-30 pounds in the first few months. In a study of patients participating, most lost 15% of their total body weight over the course of one year.

In our experience, the average weight loss has been over 20 pounds over the first three months with many of the ongoing patients losing up to 60 pounds after six months of treatment.

15. Are there any guarantees? Can I get my money back? Is this covered by insurance?
As weight loss is not guaranteed, we can't provide refunds. We want you to l enter this program with the same level of commitment to the program as we have. The medications give you a powerful ally in your fight to lose weight, but the responsibility still rests with you.

It's not just the medication, you will need to drink at least 8 glasses of water a day, take our proprietary TrimCare Am & PM supplements and, as with any weight loss program, a low-calorie diet and exercise program are essential for maximum success.

This program does not utilize the popular diet fads which offer short-term solutions. Instead, we have found the most significant results by assisting you in identifying and addressing behaviors that stand in the way of long-term results. Understanding these traits, the use of adjunctive medications, and routine monitoring under a physician’s care, create the foundation for long-term results. With your commitment and dedication, we are convinced that you will lose weight with this program and keep it off.

Despite the overwhelming evidence that obesity increases risk of heart disease, diabetes, and even cancer, insurance companies have not embraced the payment for weight loss treatment.

16. What makes this better than liposuction or stomach stapling?

Unlike PhenterMax, liposuction and stomach stapling (gastric bypass) are surgical procedures. Surgery and use of anesthesia can carry serious risks.

According to a research article published in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (2000), among 475,000 liposuction patients who had liposuction surgeries performed on them by surgeons using general anesthesia or heavy IV sedation, there were a total of 95 deaths. Other studies suggest that the risk of death from lipoplasty is between 20 and 100 deaths per 100,000 procedures.

One big danger with liposuction is sucking out too much of your body in a single session. There is a definite limit to the quantity of fat removal and associated surgical trauma that is safe for your body. The most common causes of death from lipoplasty surgeries are: 1) Blood clot in your lung; 2) Infection; 3) Damage to your liver, intestines or lungs; 4) Drug Reactions and 5) Side Effects of Anesthesia.

Liposuction isn't an appropriate weight loss method because of the large quantity of blood and body fluids that are suctioned out with the fat, only about 2-5 pounds of tissue can be removed during the procedure. Most reputable plastic surgeons recommend that liposuction be used only on patients who are already at or near their ideal body weights. (PhenterMax on the other hand can help you whether you need to lose a few pounds, or over 100 pounds! And... without any surgery.)

A significant number of patients who undergo “stomach stapling” or gastric bypass surgery develop nerve damage and spinal cord injuries according to the Mayo Clinic. "Three nerve disorders were identified in the study patients:

  1. sensory predominant neuropathy, marked by pain and/or sensory loss, usually in the feet
  2. mononeuropathy, involving individual nerves, as in carpal tunnel syndrome, and
  3. radiculoplexus neuropathy, marked by weakness, sensory loss and/or pain in a patchy, multifocal way. Radiculoplexus neuropathy can have the most serious consequences of the three, including confining a patient to a wheelchair."

“Stomach stapling” or gastric bypass is even scarier: the operation has about a 1% death rate and immediately following surgery your possible risks would include incision infections, the wound bursting open, leaks from staple breakdown, marginal ulcers, various pulmonary problems and deep clotting in veins. About ten percent of patients suffer some post-op complications.

The cost can range between $20,000 and $55,000.

Why experience the pain and risks of surgery when PhenterMax is a cheaper, safer, painless and more effective alternative?
